PRINCIPALS OF FINNISH PRESCHOOL EDUCATION

Renowned as a country with the education focused on the well-being of children, along with the quality of good teachers and creative learning environments, Finland is rated as the best education in the world by the OECD organization for many years. Thanks to this preeminent education, Finland also ranks first in the list of the most livable countries in the world according to the World Happiness Report.
Inspired by the Education of Happiness, Wowkid's principles of education and child care focus on respect for individual rights, long-term development and human dignity for each child, joy in every moment at kindergarten:
1. Develop in every aspect:
Wowkid’s curriculum is not limited by books only. We aim to support the children for a comprehensive development, from perception, languages, physical well-being, aesthetics, emotion to social skills. Especially, at Wowkid, children will awaken their inner potential to become a bold, confident individual and constantly develop their abilities.
2. Becoming a “tiny” independent factor
At Wowkid, children will be able to practice life skills, to show "human rights" freely, boldly, to experience confidently and to make their own decisions in daily activities. The child's choices such as which book to read before going to bed, which color to wear may not be a big decision for parents, but will build a habit of self-control and a sense of trust for the child.
3. Every touch is a lesson
The principle in Finnish preschool education at Wowkid is the flexibility in the school environment, for children to think and move at anytime, anywhere. The contact and learning of concepts through practice is the learning method designed for each individual in kindergarten.
EDUCATIONAL METHODOLOGY
Play based learning
Play is the most natural and effective learning method for preschoolers. Through "play deliberately", children are nurtured an interest in knowledge and a passion for life exploration. Children at Wowkid are able to enjoy and join experimentes in hundreds of different ways with a variety of materials, helping them enrich the experience and increase their ability to perceive the richness of the surrounding world.
Project based learning
Projects at Wowkid are ''long stories'' or '' adventures '' that are inspired by children's questions about the world around them. The questions children ask will become ‘the topic of research’ of tiny discoverers, as they find out the answers themselves with the guidance of their teachers. By learning this way, children will develop a problem-solving thinking ability, practice communication skills, cooperate, and develop curiosity in a positive way.
Phenomenon based learning
At Wowkid, children learn by observing and asking questions about phenomena that happen in real life. From those questions, class will do the "research" and in-depth discovery to find the answer. In the process of exploring and solving problems posed, you will use a variety of competencies in many subjects, helping you to equip a transversal skill - a soft skill necessary for all aspects of life.
